EDINBORO, Pa. – Edinboro University's Trevon Jenifer has joined former Boro great Jose Leep as a two-time wheelchair basketball All-American. The senior from Huntingtown, MD was accorded second team All-American honors recently after being named a first team All-American a year ago.
The honor caps a brilliant career for Jenifer, who previously earned a gold medal while playing in the IWBF U23 World Championships in Paris, France. That team was coached by Edinboro head coach Jim Glatch.
While Edinboro finished with a 12-21 record this past year, Jenifer actually improved on his numbers from his junior year. Playing in all 33 games he averaged a team-leading 11.6 ppg. and was also the team's leading rebounder at 8.9 rpg. He added 233 assists and 62 steals, both also the top figure on the team.
As a junior Jenifer averaged 9.9 ppg. and 8.3 rpg. while leading the team with 228 assists and 82 steals.
Leep was the first Edinboro wheelchair basketball player to earn All-American honors more than once. He was a first team selection in 2004-05 and 2005-06.
In addition, Edinboro's Laura Clark was named to the Academic All-American Team. A junior from Columbia, PA, she maintains a 3.64 GPA as a Hearing & Speech Pathology major.
She averaged 1.3 ppg. and 3.5 rpg. while appearing in 23 games.
