ALLENDALE, Mich. (May 21, 2015) – Edinboro's
Brianne Dietrich earned a 15th place finish in the long jump on Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Division II National Championships with a jump of 5.80m. The event was held at the GVSU Track & Field Complex on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
Tarleton State's Euphemia Edem finished first in the event with a mark of 6.56m, followed by Shanice McPherson of New Mexico Highlands second with a jump of 6.52m and Shanikah Brooks of St. Augustine's third at 6.47m.
Coming into the event, Dietrich held the tenth-best jump in Division II at 19'11", posted at Slippery Rock's Dave Labor Invitational. The senior recently won the heptathlon at the PSAC Championships for the second straight year.
The Brookville, Pa. native also qualified for the indoor national championships in the long jump for the first time and ended up earning All-American honors with an eighth place finish. She finished with a jump of 18'9 3/4". She had qualified after winning the PSAC indoor title with a jump of 19'1 ½".
