EDINBORO, Pa. –
Katie Fischer, Michaela Barnes, and
Ciara Rosten combined for 60 points to lead Edinboro to an 87-52 win over West Liberty at McComb Fieldhouse in a non-conference game on Monday night. The Fighting Scots won their fourth straight game to improve to 4-2, while West Liberty fell to 1-5.

The contest showcased two of the top teams through the years in the Atlantic Region, along with two of the winningest coaches in Division II. Edinboro's
Stan Swank came in with 536 wins while Lynn Ullom of West Liberty had 526.
On this night, however, the Hilltoppers were no match for a ball-hawking Edinboro team that has now held its last four opponents to under 60 points. Edinboro forced 30 West Liberty turnovers and held a 35-2 advantage in points off turnovers.
Fischer ended the night with a game-high 24 points, including 18 in the first half. The senior guard made 9-of-15 field goals, including 6-of-11 3-pointers. She added four assists while playing just 22 minutes.
Barnes, a freshman guard, and Rosten, a junior forward/center who previously played at Massachusetts, added 18 points apiece, both season highs. Barnes made 7-of-13 field goals and also was one of several defenders to limit West Liberty's leading scorer, McKenna Shives, to just eight points, including a 0-for-7 chart on 3-pointers. Shives played last year at Gannon. Rosten made 9-of-16 field goals, adding five rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.
The turnovers, plus a big advantage from beyond the arc, proved the major difference in the game. Edinboro committed just eight turnovers and made 9-of-20 3-pointers while holding the Hilltoppers to 2-for-21 on three's. Edinboro shot 41.3 percent for the game (33-of-80), while West Liberty was at 40.0 percent (20-of-50). The Fighting Scots held a 42-37 advantage on the glass.
West Liberty scored the first basket of the game, but Fischer's 3-pointer two minutes into the first quarter gave Edinboro the lead for good. The Fighting Scots led 22-17 after one quarter, then blew the game open in the second quarter, outscoring West Liberty, 24-10. Edinboro began the second quarter on a 15-2 run to expand the lead to 37-19 with 6:32 left in the period. Fischer started the run with back-to-back three's following West Liberty turnovers.
Edinboro returns to PSAC action this weekend, hosting East Stroudsburg on Saturday, December 3, and West Chester on Saturday, December 4.
