EDINBORO, Pa. – Members of the Edinboro women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, and wrestling teams assisted with the Convoy of Hope community event that took place the weekend of August 18-19 in Erie.
The Convoy of Hope is a Springfield, Missouri-based charity that holds between 50 and 60 events nationwide each year. Members of the community received free groceries, lunch, shoes, and health and dental screening, among other things, during the event. The event required a large group of volunteers from the area to assist in the setup for the event, plus workers to assist during the two days.
Edinboro's student-athletes from the women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, and wrestling teams assisted in the massive setup of the event on Friday, setting up tables, constructing barriers, and placing garbage containers, for instance, outside Pfeiffer-Burleigh School. Members of the women's soccer team returned on Saturday to assist in the distribution of items.
