Amy Perry Davis ('99) ranks as one of Edinboro’s all-time great female runners. The 1999 Nancy Acker Award winner, all told she was an eight-time All-American, three times in cross country and five in track & field. She is one of only four female runners at Edinboro to earn All-American honors three-or-more times, and was the first one to do it. In cross country, she earned All-American honors in 1996, ’97 and ’98, including a fifth place finish in 1997, helping the Fighting Scots place fourth at the NCAA Division II National Championships. She would lead the Fighting Scots to a fifth place finish her senior year, capturing her third All-American certificate in cross country. Perry Davis also won the PSAC individual crown and East Region championship all three years, and was recognized as the PSAC Women’s Runner of the Year three times. She was twice named the Easton Small College Cross Country Runner of the Year. In track & field, she again earned many honors, including numerous PSAC individual event championships. She accomplished the difficult double of earning All-American honors in both the 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run in 1998 and 1999. She placed third in the 10,000 and fourth in the 5,000 in 1998, then bettered that a year later. She would finish second in the 5,000 and third in the 10,000, earning PSAC Runner of the Year honors. She was also an outstanding student, earning PSAC Top Ten honors four times (twice in the fall and twice in the spring), and was a seven-time All-Academic selection.
