Walton may be the finest volleyball player to take the court at Edinboro, earning a spot on Edinboro’s all-time team and being named the 2004 Nancy Acker Award winner.  A middle hitter who played for the Fighting Scots from 2000-03, she was Edinboro’s first player to earn AVCA Division II All-American honors. She helped Edinboro to the PSAC Championship in 2001, along with appearances in the PSAC Finals all four years. Edinboro also played in the Atlantic Regional three of her four years, capturing the regional title and advancing to the Elite Eight in 2002. The Fighting Scots were 91-45 during her four seasons. She ended up being a two-time AVCA All-American, earning third team honors in 2002 and again in 2003. She was also selected the PSAC West Athlete of the Year in 2003 and was a four-time All-PSAC West honoree, earning first team accolades in 2001, 2002, and 2003 after being named to the second team as a freshman in 2000. She was named the both the PSAC West Rookie of the Year and the AVCA Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year in 2000. Finally, she was a four-time AVCA All-Atlantic Region pick. Walton ranks highly in numerous statistical categories, including ranking second in career kills (1,906) while leading the Scots in kills each of her four seasons. She is also first in career hitting percentage (.387), first in block solos (90), second in kills average (4.09), second in total attempts (3,705), fourth in block assists (313), tied for fourth in career games played (466), and fifth in total blocks (403).  In regards to the season records, she has three of the top seasons in kills, ranking second with 634 in 2003, ninth with 462 in 2002, and 16th with 414 in 2001. She holds the school record for highest hitting percentage in a season at .431 in 2003, and in all has four of the top 12 seasons.  Her figure of .398 in 2002 ranks sixth, and she had a .365 percentage in 2000 (10th) and a .355 percentage in 2001 (12th). She holds three of the top six season figures in kills average, including second in 2003 (4.8) and fourth in 2002 (3.98). In blocks, she stands eighth in total blocks with 143 in 2003 and is eighth in block solos with 26 in 2001. Walton was the head volleyball coach at Gettysburg College for two seasons and was an assistant coach at California(Pa.) for three years.
