Bernard Henry (‘01) ranks as one of the all-time great running backs at Edinboro despite playing just two seasons for the Fighting Scots.  A former junior college transfer, he ran for 1,000 yards in both seasons as a Fighting Scot and ranks as one of only five rushers with multiple 1,000-yard seasons.  In 1999, his first season as a Fighting Scot, he ran for 1,046 yards on 220 carries with 8 TDs.  In addition, he caught 16 passes for 159 yards and two more scores.  The following season he would carry the ball 177 times for 1,054 yards, a 6.0 yard average, with 7 TDs.  He added 14 catches for 132 yards.  All told, he played in 21 games and ran for 100 yards in ten of those.  He was a first team All-PSAC West selection both in 1999 and 2000, and played in the 2001 Cactus Bowl.  Henry currently ranks seventh in career rushing with 2,100 yards, and his 1,054 yards in 2000 ranks 13th and the 1,046 yards in 1999 is 14th in a season.  He also ranks eighth in career rushing attempts with 397.
His top single-game effort of 263 yards against Mercyhurst in 2000 is the fourth-highest single-game total, and his 297 total yards against California(Pa.) in 2000 is seventh all-time.  In that game he returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown.  Not only is it the third-longest kickoff return in school history, it was his only kickoff return of the season and just the second of his career.
