Bob Kauffman ('87) was a transfer from Iowa who wrestled just one season for the Fighting Scots, but he made the most of it. Competing at 150 lbs., he won the NCAA Division II national championship in 1986, one of just five Edinboro wrestlers to win the Division II national championship. Kauffman finished that one season with a 23-3 record. He began his run to the national championship by leading Edinboro to the NCAA Division II East Regional crown, finishing first at 150 lbs. with a 10-8 decision over Vinnie Hanlon of California(Pa.). He won all five of his matches at Nationals, capping his run to the title with an 8-3 decision over Brian McTague of SIU-Edwardsville. A native of Emmitsburg, IA, he currently resides in Fountain Hills, AZ with his wife Julie and three children, Kylee, Parker and Leyton. He received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Edinboro in 1987. He is currently employed at Kauffman Homes Partner and Real Estate and Avenue of the Fountains Executive Suites, along with owning Advacoat Concrete Floor Coatings.
