Danny Smith ('76) lifetime contribution in athletics while bringing distinction and honor to Edinboro University and its athletic department. He began his coaching career at Edinboro then returned to his high school alma mater, Central Catholic, to help mold Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino. His college coaching stops included Clemson and Georgia Tech, where he helped the Yellow Jackets win a national championship in 1990. Over the last decade he has become a highly respected NFL assistant coach with the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills and currently with the Washington Redskins.
