David Ray is being inducted as the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. He wrestled just one season with Edinboro after transferring from the University of Iowa, but that one season in All-American honors at both the Division I and Division II national championships. He competed for Edinboro at 134 lbs. in 1985-86. Ray won the 134 lb. title at the Eastern Regional Championship as Edinboro claimed the team title. He would finish as the NCAA Division II runner-up at 134 lbs. as the Fighting Scots finished second. He went on to compete at the Division I National Championships, coming in third overall and helping the Fighting Scots finish 11th as a team. Ray ended his lone season at Edinboro with a 37-7 record and 12 falls. At the time, the 37 wins ranked second in a season. Ray would earn his bachelor's degree from Simpson College, and proceeded to enjoy a Hall of Fame coaching career. He spent 25 years in coaching, with 12 years at Montana State Northern, an NAIA school. He was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2017, and was also a 202 MSU-Northern Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame inductee and was also inducted into the 2016 Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Ray led MSU-Northern to four NAIA national championships and was named the national coach of the year four times. He coached 21 national champions and produced 84 All-Americans.  Ray posted a career record 158-96-5 while also coaching four seasons at Southern Illinois Edwardsville.
