Jose Leep ('07) was a standout for the Edinboro wheelchair basketball team and is the first Hall of Fame inductee from the wheelchair basketball program. The native of Colombia played for the Fighting Scots from 2002-07. He was a four-time National Wheelchair Basketball Association Central Intercollegiate Division All-American, earning first teams honors in 2004-05 and 2005-06, and second team accolades in 2003-04 and 2006-07.  Complete statistics are not available for the 2003-04 season, but he played in 175 total games, helping the Fighting Scots win 111.  He scored a total of 1,761 points, adding 581 rebounds, 580 assists, and 228 steals. Leep led Edinboro to the NIWBT National Championship Game in 2007, Edinboro's lone appearance in the title game. The runner-up finish was Edinboro's highest ever. He was named the Boro Tournament MVP in 2004-05, along with being named the Carousel House Tournament MVP.  He was selected to the Boro Shootout All-Tournament Team in 2002-03, 2003-04, and 2004-05.  Leep has enjoyed great success in international competition since departing Edinboro, and is currently employed as a pro basketball player in Spain. He was a member of the 1997 Junior USA International team, and has been a member of the Columbian Senior Men's National Team from 2009 to the present. He was a silver medalist at the 2011 Para Pan American Games, and competed in the London Paralympics for the Colombian National Team, serving as the captain. Leep was equally adept in the classroom, and was a five-time Edinboro Scholar-Athlete. He graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and currently resides in Schererville, Ind.
