Kelly Calderone-Tielsch ('08) was a standout for the women's basketball team from 2004-07 after playing her freshman season at the University at Buffalo. She would go on to become just the third Fighting Scot at the time to earn All-PSAC honors three times in her career while leading the Fighting Scots in scoring all three years. She was named to the first team as a junior and senior and second team as a sophomore while starting all 87 games at Edinboro. Calderone-Tielsch was the recipient of the Nancy Acker Award in 2007 and is a member of Edinboro's all-time team. She remains among Edinboro's career leaders in numerous categories, including: seventh in career scoring (1,460 points), fourth in career scoring average (16.8 ppg.), first in career free throw percentage (85.6 pct.), second in career free throws made (415), fifth in career free throws attempted (485), sixth in career 3-pointers made (153) and attempted (446), and eighth in career 3-point percentage (34.3 pct.). In her first season as a Fighting Scot in 2004-05, she helped Edinboro finish with an 18-10 record while earning second team All-PSAC West accolades.  She averaged a team-high 16.1 ppg., ranking fifth in the PSAC in scoring, and was second in the PSAC and 25th in Division II in free throw percentage at 84.8 pct. (117-of-138). The 2005-06 Fighting Scot edition ended the year with a 21-10 record, reaching the PSAC Championship game and qualifying for the NCAA East Regional. Calderone-Tielsch was a first team All-PSAC West selection after leading the team in scoring. She was later named an honorable mention Kodak/WBCA All-American. She averaged 16.0 ppg. and set the school record for free throw percentage at 87.9 pct., a record which has since been broken as she now stands second while making 145-of-165 attempts. She ranked first in the PSAC, and the 87.9 percent was the third-highest figure ever in the PSAC at the time, along with ranking 10th in Division II. She finished her career at Edinboro in 2006-07, earned first team All-PSAC West honors for the second straight year. She led the team in scoring for the third straight year, averaging a career-high 18.3 ppg., good for fourth in the PSAC.  Calderone-Tielsch resides in Coraopolis, Pa. with her husband Darren, a former standout on the men's basketball team and a 2018 Hall of Fame inductee, as well. The couple has two children, Kendall (6) and Landon (3). She graduated from Edinboro in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and is a registered nurse at Allegheny Health Network Healthcare at Home.
