Thomas Stanko for his outstanding contributions with Edinboro University athletics. A faculty member at Edinboro for 34 years, he joined the English department staff in 1966, teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He took over as the public address announcer for the Fighting Scots basketball teams in 1978. His interests also led to his appointment as Edinboro’s faculty representative to the NCAA and the PSAC beginning in 1988. All told, he has helped fund five endowed scholarships to academically deserving student-athletes. In addition to his generosity, he will always be remembered for his distinctive call when a Fighting Scot basketball player hit a three-pointer – THREEEEE!!!!!!!
