This week’s Fighting Scots Female Athlete of the Week is senior Karisa Fernandez (Zeilenople, PA/Seneca Valley). Karisa had three goals in a pair of Edinboro victories this past week against Roberts Wesleyan and Kutztown. On Saturday, she scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes left in the first overtime vs. Kutztown. Karisa took a cross from five yards out directly in front of the net and beat the Kutztown goalkeeper to the right for a 3-2 triumph. Against Roberts Wesleyan, she scored twice in the Boro’s 3-0 non-conference win. She also moved into fifth place on the all-time Edinboro points list as she now has 74 for her career in red and white.
