Redshirt junior Dylan Reynolds finished sixth at 197 lbs. at the Southern Scuffle last week. The Scuffle is one of the top tournament in the country each season. As a team the Fighting Scots finished t-18th.
Reynolds would go 3-1 on day one. He opened action with a technical fall over Jack Trautman of Gardner-Webb, prevailing 17-1 (5:16), before facing off against former teammate Dakota Geer, who transferred to Oklahoma State this past summer, falling 6-1. Reynolds rebounded with a pair of decision wins over Tyrie Haughton of North Carolina State, 6-4, and Sawyer Root of The Citadel, 5-3, in the wrestlebacks.
Reynolds picked up a win over Stephen Loiseau of Drexel in his first match of day two by medical forfeit and followed it up with a 3-2 decision of Josh Roetman of Navy. In the consolation semifinals, Reynolds once against had to face off against former teammate Geer. In their second meeting of the tournament, Geer won a 1-0 decision sending Reynolds to the fifth place match. Reynolds would fall by major decision, 9-0 to Jacob Seely of Northern Colorado.
