The combination of Hope Pietrocarlo (Bemus Point, N.Y./Maple Grove) and Stefanie Parsons (Acton, Ontario/Christ the King) spearheaded Edinboro’s 18th place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships. The duo both earned All-American honors and are the first pair of Fighting Scots to earn All-American accolades since Kacey Gibson and Sarah Krolick in 2012. Pietrocarlo became a two-time All-American after finishing 15th with a time of 20:39.2, the first two-time All-American since Krolick in 2013. The redshirt junior was 27th a year ago. Parsons, meanwhile, came in at 20:39.4 for 17th place. It is the first time the junior has earned All-American honors in cross country after earning the honor in the one-mile run in indoor track & field last spring. The 18th place finish is the highest for Edinboro since the 2015 team came in 15th. The duo capped an incredible fall. Parsons won both the PSAC and Atlantic Region championships, with Pietrocarlo coming in second in both races.
