This week’s Fighting Scots Female Athlete of the Week is senior Stephanie Smigiera (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East). Smigiera set the school record point total while taking first place in the pentathlon on Friday night at the NCAA Division II Team Challenge. Smigiera's point total of 3,470 is also an NCAA provisional qualifier and ranks in the top eight for the year. She won three events – the shot put with a throw of 38'2.25”, the long jump (17'.75”) and the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.47. In addition, she was third in the 60 meter hurdles (9.19) and was 11^th in the high jump (4'8.25”).
