EDINBORO, Pa. (Feb. 4, 2014) – There were more winners than just the women's basketball and wrestling teams at McComb Fieldhouse on Saturday. The real winner is Breast Cancer Awareness, and all of those individuals who came in through the front doors and made donations.
Edinboro hosted its annual Fighting Scots Fighting Cancer Day on Saturday, February 1, with the women's and men's basketball teams hosting Pitt-Johnstown in the afternoon, and the wrestling team facing Buffalo in the evening. Admission was free with donations accepted for Breast Cancer Awareness. The athletic department worked in conjunction with the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, as the Zeta's spent the day manning an informational booth, handing out pink ribbons and sponsoring 50/50's.
When it was all said and done, the day proved highly successful, with a total of $2,011.55 raised for Breast Cancer Awareness, and ultimately the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
