Jake Sisson Named D2Football.com Offensive Player of the Week for Second Time

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) EDINBORO, Pa. – Edinboro University's Jake Sisson (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) has been named the D2Football.com Offensive Player of the Week. It marks the second time this season he has earned the honor. He previously was recognized after the Lock Haven game.  Sisson was also previously named the PSAC West Offensive Player of the Week for the second time after leading Edinboro to a 62-14 win at Clarion. The Fighting Scots improved to 4-1 with the victory, the best start since 2011.
 
Sisson became the first player in Edinboro history to pass for a touchdown, run for a touchdown, and catch a touchdown pass in a game. The junior quarterback also broke his own school record for touchdowns responsible for in a game, as he threw five touchdown passes, along with running for one and catching one.
 
He opened the scoring with an eight-yard touchdown reception from running back Walter Fletcher. That was followed by a pair of touchdown passes, covering 30 yards to Jordan Williams and 52 yards to Alex Caratelli. In the second quarter, he ran for a four-yard touchdown, then threw a 16-yarder to Caratelli. Sisson would wrap up his big day with a pair of third-quarter touchdown passes to James Clark, covering 43 and 32 yards.
 
Sisson would end the game completing 22 of 37 passes for 357 yards. He added a team-high 38 yards rushing on seven carries. The 395 yards in total offense ranks tenth in a game.
 
Over the last four games, he has thrown 19 touchdown passes as opposed to just four interceptions. On the season, he has already thrown 21 TD passes, which ranks sixth in a season.  He has moved into seventh place in career passing yards with 3,837 yards, and moved into ninth place in career total offense with 4,165 yards.
 
Sisson currently leads NCAA Division II in points responsible for (150) and passing touchdowns (21). He ranks fourth in the PSAC and seventh nationally in yards passing (1,647) and passing yards per game (329.4), while ranking third in the conference and tenth nationally in total offense (348.6 ypg.).
