EDINBORO, Pa. (November 5, 2016) – The Edinboro University men's swimming team hosted Bloomsburg in their home opener Saturday at McComb Fieldhosue. The Fighting Scots combined for three wins and five second-place finishes as they fell to the Huskies by a 132-70 score. Edinboro dropped to 0-3 on the year, while Bloomsburg climbed to 3-0.
Justin Ransel picked up Edinboro's first win in the 100 yard freestyle with a PSAC-qualifying time of 49.54.
Marcus Grosso won the 100 yard backstroke, finishing with a PSAC-qualifying mark of 54.40.
Luke Frederick earned the Fighting Scots' final win of the day in the 100 yard backstroke with a PSAC-qualifying time of 59.32.
Nick Bradford earned a pair of PSAC qualifications in the 100 yard freestyle (10:28.05) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:05.21), placing second and third, respectively. Grosso earned another PSAC qualification finishing second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.30. Frederick and Halle picked up league qualifiers in the 200 yard IM, placing second (2:00.13) and fourth (2:03.19), respectively.
The Fighting Scots return to action on Friday, November 11, when they head down to Allegheny College for a tri-meet between the Gators and Gannon, starting at 6:00 p.m.
