Men’s Swimming Takes Four Victories in 97-88 Win Against Tiffin

EDINBORO, Pa. (January 13, 2017) – The Edinboro University men's swimming team tallied four wins against Tiffin Friday night, including a victory in the 200 yard freestyle relay, the final event of the evening, to clinch a 97-88 win in McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots jumped to 1-3, while the Dragons fell to 0-4.

Edinboro held an 86-84 lead heading into the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of seniors Luke Frederick and Justin Ransel, freshman Gage Halle and junior Daniel Peng finished first with a time of 1:28.10 to secure the victory. Frederick, Ransel and Peng also grouped with sophomore Marcus Grosso to win the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:37.92, while Ransel took a solo victory in the 50 yard freestyle with a mark of 21.90. Sophomore Nathan Spaid took the top spot in the 200 yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:11.11

The Fighting Scots are right back in action on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. PSAC contest at Shippensburg.
