Fighting Scots Capture Five Individual Victories in 120.5-84.5 Defeat at Gannon

ERIE, Pa. - The Edinboro University men's swimming team captured five individual victories as they dropped a 120.50-84.50 decision at the dual meet against local rival Gannon on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Fighting Scots are now 1-5 on the year while the Golden Knights improved to 2-5.

The team of Marcus Grosso, Dylan Cerroni, Justin Ransel and Daniel Peng captured the first victory of the day for the Fighting Scots, placing first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:39.83. Ransel also took home individual victories in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, posting times off 21.96 and 54.43, respectively.

Grosso captured the fourth victory of the day for Edinboro in the 100-yard backstroke. Grosso recorded a time of 54.38, besting Gannon's Maciej Skrzypczak who finished with a time of 54.97. Luke Fredrick posted the fifth and final victory for the Fighting Scots, taking home first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.08.

The Fighting Scots return to the pool one final time before the PSAC Championships. Edinboro celebrates senior day hosting Clarion on Friday, January 27 with a meet time of 6:00 p.m. The Fighting Scots will honor five departing seniors prior to the meet.
