BLOOMSBURG, Pa. –
Marcus Grosso won two races, and
Nick Bradford took home a first place win, as the Edinboro men's swimming team had seven PSAC Championship qualifiers in a 128-76 loss at Bloomsburg on Friday night. The Fighting Scots are now 0-2 on the season, while the Huskies captured their first win of the year.
In addition to their first place wins on the night, Grosso, Bradford and
Tommy Horan each qualified for the PSAC Championships in two events, respectively.
Grosso won the 200-yard freestyle with a qualifying mark of 1:46.88, and the 100-yard backstroke, coming in at 53.69. His finish in the 100-yard backstroke was six-hundredths of a second faster than the next finisher. Bradford placed first in the 200-yard IM with a conference qualifying time of 1:59.22, and finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.94. As for Horan, he finished third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.05, and came in fourth place in the 50-yard freestyle at 22.42.
Jackson Bangert captured second place in the 100-yard butterfly with a PSAC qualifying time of 54:03.
Michael Kocher and
Daniel Peng each took home a third-place finish, respectively. Kocher qualified in the 200-yard IM at 2:01.32, while Peng qualified in the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 22.21.
Steven Sell also qualified in the 50-yard freestyle, coming in fifth place at 22.73.
Edinboro travels down the road to Allegheny next weekend, as they compete in the Gator Invite on Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11.
