EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro men's swimming team had six PSAC Championship qualifiers, including four swimmers winning individual events in a 134-83 loss to Gannon on Friday at McComb Fieldhouse. With the loss, the Fighting Scots fall to 1-4 overall, and the Golden Knights improved to 7-1.
Marcus Grosso,
Tommy Horan each placed PSAC marks in two events against Gannon.
Grosso won the 100-yard backstroke with a qualifying time of 53.27 and finished second in the 200-yard freestyle, qualifying at 1:46.97. Horan completed the 100-yard freestyle in first place, finishing with a conference-mark at 49.32. He went on to finish second in the 50-yard freestyle with a qualifying time of 22.28.
Jackson Bangert and
Dylan Cerroni also picked up first place finishes. Bangert qualified in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.84. Cerroni won the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:02.47.
Michael Kocher and
Nick Bradford also finished two conference-qualifying marks.
Kocher had a second and third place finish on the night. He ended the 200-yard IM in second place with a qualifying time at 2:03.52 and third in the 100-yard backstroke with a conference-mark at 54.96. Bradford qualified in the 100-yard butterfly at 54.29 and in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:49.28. He finished both events in third place.
Steven Sell concluded the 100-yard freestyle in third place with a qualifying time of 49.47.
The Fighting Scots host Senior Day in their final dual of the regular season on January 26 against Clarion. The meet is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
