Schultz Places 14th in Shot Put at NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships

PITTSBURG, KS. – Edinboro University's Gabby Schultz finished 14th in the shot put at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Saturday. She was the second of two Fighting Scots to compete at the indoor Nationals, after Stefanie Parsons finishing 15th in the one mile run on Friday.

Schultz competed in the first group and her first throw was a mark of 14.22 meters (46'8"). She would foul on her next two attempts. Her distance was just slightly off her qualifying mark of 14.56 meters.

Millersville's Sunflower Greene came away with the national championship with a mrk of 16.26 meters (53'4 3/4"). That edged Wayne State's Michaela Dendinger's mark of 16.19 meters (53'1 1/2").

Schultz competed a year ago at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships after qualifying in both the shot put and discus. She holds Edinboro records for the shot put, weight throw, and discus.
