The Fighting Scots then tied the contest up in the fifth,  as Abagail Sallot scored the tying run off a fielding error by the Vulcans left fielder Kaylyn Roose. Edinboro would force extra innings for the first time this season, but Cal's Paige Wilson scored the winning run in eighth for the Vulcans. She reached home plate on Brooke Wilson's RBI single. Both teams ended the contest with six hits apiece. Danna Heh went 2-of-4 on her at-bats, while Allen went 2-of-3 at the plate. Amanda Metz took the loss for Edinboro, falling to 2-8 on the season.
