ERIE, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis team remains undefeated in 2019, as the Fighting Scots defeated Davis & Elkins in a 7-0 shutout at
Westwood Racquet Club. The Fighting Scots host Roberts Wesleyan on Monday, February 25 at 11:00 a.m.
Edinboro swept doubles competition to the pick up a point. At number one doubles,
Julius Schulte and
Kevin Mboko won, 6-2.
Nils Plutat and
Tommy Hsu picked up a 6-0 win at number two doubles, while
Mateus Santos and
Mauricio Santos were 6-1 victors at number three doubles.
The Fighting Scots also swept in singles play. After trailing 7-5 after the first set,
Mateus Santos responded with a 6-4 win in set number two. He went onto win by retirement at number one singles. Hsu won 6-2, 6-0 at number two singles, while Plutat won 7-5, 5-7, 6-0 at number three singles. At number four singles,
Mauricio Santos won 6-3, 6-0. Mboko was victorious in a decisive 6-1, 6-1 decision at number five singles, and Schulte won by retirement, 6-4, 4-1.
