James Conner Highlights 13th Edinboro Sports Memorabilia Auction

EDINBORO, Pa. -- Edinboro University athletics will once again be bringing its show to Erie, PA as the athletic department has announced plans for its 13th Sports Memorabilia Auction. Slated for Wednesday, May 29, 2019, the event will be held at the Ambassador Center at the Courtyard by Marriott to benefit the Fighting Scots' 17-sport intercollegiate athletic program, as well as adaptive athletics.

23557The event, traditionally known to feature great autograph guests, will not disappoint area fans again this May.  Pittsburgh Steeler and Erie's own All Pro running back James Conner will highlight the evening as the featured guest.  Also in attendance will be the voice of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Panthers Bill Hillgrove and nationally renowned Disney and Sports artist Kevin-John Jobczynski, a former resident of Erie, who now calls Florida home.  

Doors open and the silent auction will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by the public autograph session at approximately 7:30 p.m. The live auction of approximately 50 items will conclude the event ending at approximately 9:30 p.m. Over 200 items will be up for bid that evening.

Tickets are scaled at $10 for admission while autograph tickets can be purchased the night of the event.  Autograph tickets will be $50 for premium pieces such as helmets and jerseys as well as other large items.  Flats, such as trading cards and 8 X 10 photos will cost collectors $20.  The public is encouraged to bring their own pieces as there will be a limited number of items to purchase at the event.
         
Featured items at the live auction will include autographed jerseys from Sydney Crosby, Conner McDavid, Jim Kelly, Franco Harris, Cam Heyward, Tony Romo and Fred Biletnikoff.  Other highlighted pieces will include a signed basketball from the 2012 Team USA squad, a basketball from Kentucky head coach John Calipari and a Roberto Clemente autographed baseball. 
 
Each paying customer will receive a special 18" X 24" print of Conner designed by Kevin-John Jobczynski. Free hors d'oeuvres will also be part of the admission price.  Kevin-John's Disney work will be auctioned off, as well, featuring unique pieces never up for bid at this event. The live auction will once again include numerous types of collectibles including autographed artwork and signed jerseys, balls and photos.   

The previous auctions, dating back to 1995, have netted over $220,000 for the benefit of Edinboro University student-athletes. Past guests have included Cam Heyward, Maurkice Pouncey, Ryan Clark, Franco Harris, Jim Kelly, Jerome Bettis and Rod Woodson.
