GREENSBURG, Pa. -- Seniors
Laura Lopez and
Tatiana Batalla Trabal picked up wins in singles in the final collegiate match as the Edinboro women's tennis team fell, 5-2, to Seton Hill on the road Wednesday afternoon. The Griffins swept through doubles and won four of the six singles matches en route to the win. The Fighting Scots conclude the 2019 season 2-17 overall and 2-4 in the PSAC.
Seton Hill gave up only one game in doubles winning 6-0 over Batalla Trabal and
Jelena Vucenovic at the top spot. Lopez teamed up with
Hannah Brentar, falling to the Griffins 6-1 at number two doubles.
In singles, Lopez won a tight first set over Kaelyn Zak in a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-3). She had a little more room in the second picking up the straight-set win 7-6, 6-3 to put Edinboro on the board. Batalla Trabal gave Edinboro some life with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Cameron Beer, but Seton Hill was able to close out the match winning at three through six singles.
