Tatiana Batalla Trabal won a tight match at number two singles as the Edinboro women's tennis fell to Slippery Rock, 6-1. The Fighting Scots move to 1-15 on the season and even their PSAC record at 1-1 while Slippery Rock moves to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC. The Fighting Scots return to the court on Wednesday, April 10 when they visit Clarion at 4:00 p.m.
The Rock picked up a sweep in doubles to move ahead 1-0. Edinboro dropped decisions 6-3 and 6-2, respectively at number one and number two doubles. The Fighting Scots forfeited at number three.
In singles, Slippery Rock picked up straight-set wins at numbers one and three through five singles to clinch the win. At number two singles, Batalla Trabal won her first set, 6-2, before dropping the second set, 6-1. With the match already decided, the two played a match tiebreak to decide a winner. The Fighting Scot won a close tiebreak 10-8 to prevent the shutout by The Rock.Â
