EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team hosts the George Mason Patriots in a Mid-American Conference dual which will tentatively serve as the Fighting Scots lone home match in the 2021 season. The contest is slated for Sunday, January 31 at 1 p.m. in the McComb Fieldhouse and will feature both a dual match and round-robin matches.

Edinboro is coming off a tri-match with fellow Erie County programs Mercyhurst and Gannon, but this will be the Fighting Scots first match with official team results. The Patriots kicked off their season on Sunday, January 24 when they traveled to Rider.
 
The programs have squared off a total of six times since January of 2015. Edinboro got the best of George Mason in their first four tilts, but the Patriots have won the last two matches by a combined three points, making the all-time matchup record 4-2 in favor of the Scots.
 
George Mason returns sophomore Josh Jones who picked up an impressive eleven wins in his first college season, including three pins. Jones will wrestle at the 125 pound weight class.
 
For the Fighting Scots, Jon Spaulding returns at heavyweight coming off a 27-9 campaign in his junior season in addition to redshirt sophomore Cody Mulligan who finished with 19 wins last season.
