EDINBORO, PA - Edinboro (0-3) fell to losses against Bloomsburg (1-2) and Allegheny (2-2) in their first dual meet of the season. Edinboro were defeated 143-55 against Bloomsburg, Allegheny took the victory 149-100 on Saturday afternoon.
Edinboro placed second in the 200-yard medley relay at Allegheny with the team of Gerardo Ruiz, Kevin Morgan, Luke Edmonds and Frank Barger finishing at 1:40.47. Ted Kinney was in place of Luke against Bloomsburg where Edinboro also placed second with a time of 1:39.51.
Dylan Cross took victory in the 1000-yard freestyle in both meets finishing at 10:25.23 against Bloomsburg for PSAC qualification, Dylan finished at 10:39.04 against Allegheny, taking victory by over 15 seconds.
Luke Edmonds just missed out on a PSAC qualification time placing sixth with a time of 1:49.86. Gerardo Ruiz was victorious against Allegheny with a solid time of 1:50.96.
Ted Kinney placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a PSAC qualifying time of 21.80 against Bloomsburg. Luke Edmonds placed first at Allegheny finishing at 22.25, third place was taken by Frank Barger with a time of 23.64.
The 200-yard IM saw Gerardo Ruiz secure a PSAC qualifying time with his third place finish against Bloomsburg, finishing at 2:02.56. Dylan Cossin placed third at Allegheny finishing at 2:10.77. The 100-yard backstroke saw Gerardo Ruiz achieve another PSAC qualifying time of 53.26 taking the victory against Bloomsburg.
Luke Edmonds took victory in the 100-yard freestyle against Allegheny at 49.30, Sean Mitcho placed fourth at 52.47. Frank Barger competed to place fifth against Bloomsburg finishing at 51.08.
The 200-yard freestyle at Allegheny saw Gerardo Ruiz place first at 1:50.96. Aaron Frederick placed third with a time of 2:02.60. Gerardo then placed first in the 200-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.65 and 5:05.25 respectively.
Dylan Cossin performed well in the 500-yard freestyle securing victory and a PSAC qualifying time of 4:59.93.
Edinboro will now have time to prepare for the Wooster Invitational scheduled for Thursday, Dec 4-6 (Saturday) with time TBA in Wooster, OH at the Timken Natatorium.
