Jacob Oliver – 174 pounds
Oliver's first round matchup is against redshirt sophomore Bernie Truax from Cal Polytechnic State University. Traux went 9-1 on the season, good enough for a 12 seed, and qualified via a first-place finish at the PAC 12 conference tournament. Oliver finished his 2021 campaign 11-4 and was the no. 20 ranked wrestler in the NCAA final coaches' rankings. This is the third time he has qualified for nationals but only his second trip as he missed an opportunity due to COVID-19. Oliver finished third in the MAC Championships in February.
Jon Spaulding - 285 pounds
Spaulding is set to wrestle sophomore Tony Cassioppi (8-2) from The University of Iowa. Cassioppi earned an automatic bid by finishing third in the Big 10 conference tournament. Spaulding finished third at MAC Championships then awaited his at large bid to St. Louis. This is his second opportunity as a national qualifier.
Oliver and Spaulding helped pace the Fighting Scots to a fifth place finish at the MAC Championships.
