Women's tennis wins season finale over Daemen College

EDINBORO, Pa. - Edinboro women's tennis ended their 2021 campaign on a positive note by defeating the Wildcats of Daemen College in non-conference action by a 4-3 final score.

The Fighting Scots were able to pick up their fourth win of the season and will return the entire team next season as the program did not have any upperclassmen on the roster in 2021.

In single's play, Kaede Tada (Kashiwa, Japan) was able to win match number 10 in a row as her outstanding first collegiate continues.  Fellow first-year Marina Zottele (Sao Jose Dos Campos) was able to pick up her fourth collegiate win in the number three slot for the Fighting Scots. Ana Nadai (Vitoria, Brazil, AF Americas) came away with a win in number four singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. This victory was her fifth of her career and season. In number six singles, Anna Zak (Pittsburgh, PA, Mt. Lebanon) was able to pick up her second victory of the season in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.

In doubles, the duo of Zottele and Nadai were able to come away victorious in the number two doubles match by a 7-5 score.

The Fighting Scots will return to action this fall and will continue to build on a solid foundation of young talent and newcomers who can help contribute to the strong tradition that is Edinboro tennis.
