Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro football team dropped a 41-0 decision to visiting No. 15 IUP Saturday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium.
Clay Cunningham continued to pile up the tackles defensively. He recorded 16 total tackles with five solo stops and 2.0 tackles for loss.
Wilfredo Diaz added 12 tackles including six solo stops.
The Crimson Hawks got on the board first when Mak Sexton found Hilton Ridley for a 10-yard touchdown with 3:50 left in the first. Dayjure Stewart pushed the lead to 13-0 with 53 seconds remaining in the quarter with a 16-yard rushing touchdown.
IUP would tack on three more scores in the second to take a 35-0 advantage into the locker room.
The Scots defense would slow down IUP in the second half allowing just six points to set the final.
Edinboro rushed for 138 yards in the game,
Anfreenee Williams led the Scots with 68 yards in his return to the lineup. Karamago Sylla added 33 yards. On a windy day,
Reed Martin averaged 42.8 yards per punt on six punts.
Edinboro is back in action next Saturday when they travel to Clarion for a noon kickoff with the Golden Eagles.
