Las Vegas – The Edinboro wrestling team sent nine athletes to compete at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev. Friday and Saturday.
Cody Mulligan made his return to the mat at 197. He dropped his opening match 4-2 to Tanner Harvey of Oregon State. In his opening consolation bout, Mulligan topped Carson Brewer of Ohio 2-1. He advanced with a medical forfeit before falling to the tournament's top seed Tanner Sloan of South Dakota State.
Luke Kemerer opened his tournament with a 9-1 major decision over George Ruiz of Navy. In his second match, Kemerer dropped a 5-2 decision to Peyten Kellar of Ohio. He bounced back with a 6-3 decision over Rhise Royster, but had his tournament end with a 4-0 loss to Nick Delp of Bucknell.
Aiden Lewis finished Friday 1-2 overall dropping his opening match 8-4 to Kurt McHenry of Michigan. Lewis earned a 5-1 decision to Blair Orr of the Citadel in the first consolation match, before going out against Kase Mauger of Utah Valley.
Cameron Soda was also 1-2 falling in his opener to Northern Iowa's Kyle Biscoglia via fall. Soda bounced back with a 3-1 decision over Navy's Tyler Hunt. Jason Shaner ended Soda's as the Oregon State wrestler earned an 8-4 decision.
At 165,
Alex Garee dropped a 6-0 decision in his first match to William Formato of Appalachian State. He scored a 7-6 decision in his first consolation match before falling 8-2 to Air Force's Giano Petrucelli.
Max Millin got the nod at 285 falling 3-1 to Mason Fiscella of Appalachian State. He knocked off Aeden Begue 3-2 in his first consolation match. Millin dropped his third match 9-1 to Lee Herrington.
The Scots are back in action next Saturday when they host Ohio at Saegertown High School. Wrestling begins at 7 p.m.
