Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis team won a close one late Saturday night at the Alpha Tennis Center as they defeated Divison III nationally ranked Carnegie Mellon University 4-3. The Fighting Scots grabbed their foirth win of the season as they sit at (4-3) overall.
Doubles had a huge impact on the outcome of the match, as singles play was all even at 3-3. Edinboro won all three doubles matches to clutch the match and go home with a victory.
In Singles play Bruno Sabio defeated Brandon Aprill 6-2, 6-3. Up next, Ruben Acuna was victorious over Nadim Motaghedi 6-1, 6-4. Thibault Dorval won Edinboro's third singles match when took down William Wang 6-3, 6-1.
In Doubles play the duo of Sabio and Rocco Palombarini blew past Pott and D'abreo, 6-1. Dorval and Maksymilian Braziewicz defeated Fourchy and Aprill in a close one, 7-5. The final doubles match had Acuna and Kaio Sacchi winning over Nottingham and Gibson, 6-3.
Up next for Edinboro is a match with Adelphi University next Tuesday on March 8th.
