Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro women's tennis team got back in the winning column with a 5-2 victory over West Chester University, Saturday afternoon at the Westwood Racquet Club. With the victory Edinboro improves to (6-3) overall and holds the best record in the PSAC conference. 

Edinboro started the match from behind as they dropped the doubles point early on. The Fighting Scots responded in singles play. Edinboro rounded off five straight match wins to ultimately clinch the victory.  

In the first singles match, Vidisha Pallamreddy won a close one over Tori Alexander 6-7. 6-1, 6-0. Luciana Ponce also won a close over Davica Massaro 6-7, 7-6, 10-7. 

Up next Rafaella Negrao De Almeida got past Elaina Lee 6-4, 6-3. Following her, Anisha Thada was victorious over Yuno Oe 6-3, 6-4. Marina Zottele gave Edinboro their fifth straight match win when she defeated Amber Nguyen 7-5, 6-2. 

Edinboro will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Millersville.
