Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro men's tennis team posted another dominant shutout at home as they defeated John Carroll University 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon. With the win Edinboro concludes the regular season with a (12-5) overall record and the top seed in the PSAC conference.
In doubles Edinboro gained momentum by sweeping all three matches to clinch the point. Rocco Palombarini and Bruno Sabio defeated Gustavo Garcia and Mark Beebe 6-3. Thibault Dorval and Maksymilian Braziewicz continued the pattern as they got past Kevin Wacnik and Nathan Palinkas 6-3.
The third match had the dominant duo of Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi cruising past Griffin Millspaugh and Luis Wentz 6-0. Acuna and Sacchi finish the regular season with a (12-1) record together in doubles.
In singles, Edinboro went unbeaten in all six matches for the seventh time this season. Sabio won his eighth straight match when he took down Garcia 6-3, 6-3. Acuna closes the regular season with a (16-1) record after he defeated Beebe 6-0, 6-2. Gustavo Martins gained his twelevth win after beating Wacnik 6-2, 6-2.
Dorval added a clean sweep in his singles match as he cruised past Palinkas 6-0, 6-0. Maksymilian Braziewicz dominated Wentz 6-4, 6-1. Chia Chun Chiang competed in his first singles match of the season, as he swept Milspaugh 6-0, 6-0.
Edinboro will be back in action this Friday when they compete in the PSAC semifinals against Bloomsburg University. The tournament is hosted by Bloomsburg and the match time is still to be determined.
