The Fighting Scots slipped to 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the PSAC West after dropping a 56-18 decision to visiting Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium. The Scots held the ball for over 10 minutes in the first quarter scoring first on a 15-yard reception from

Brayden Lambert 29-yard field goal. The Rock scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 28-10 lead into the half.
Armani Bailey paced the offense with six catches for 85 yards.
Thaddeus Standfield caught five passes for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Brian Trobel ran for 40 yards and had one catch for 15 yards and a score.

Zach Malpica each tallied six tackles to lead the defense.
Honor Roll
Through 10 weeks of play the Scots have earned three PSAC West Athlete of the Week honors.
Toby Cline was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week in Week 5. Cline intercepted a pair of Mercyhurst passes while also breaking up a pass in the end zone and recording five tackles in the win.
Reed Martin is the other Scot to earn PSAC West honors this season earning Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors for his performances against Bloomsburg and Cal. On the season Martin is averaging 40.0 yards per punt which ranks 40th in Division II. He has pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line 17 times in 2023.
Hidden Yards
The Scot coverage team has held opponents to just 2.8 yards per return ranking second in the PSAC and 13th in the nation. The Scots net punting is second in the PSAC 37.8 yards per punt ranking 18th in the country.
Turnover Battle
The Edinboro defense has pounced on nine fumbles which is the most in the PSAC.
CJ Waldier has recovered two of those fumbles ranking second in the PSAC and 16th in the nation. The Edinboro defense has taken the ball away 15 times in total.
Toby Cline and
Logan Dexter have each recorded two interceptions.
Top Tackler
CJ Waldier has also been the Scots leading tackler with 88 total tackles. He ranks third in the PSAC and 22nd in the country with 8.8 stops per game. He also ranks second the conference and 19th in the nation in solo tackles with 4.8 per contest.
Rushing Attack
The Edinboro rushing attack averages 105.0 yards per game.
Brian Trobel is the Scots leading rusher averaging 59.8 yards per game.Â
Trobel has found the endzone nine times on the ground this season the third best mark in the PSAC. Trobel recorded his first receiving touchdown as a Fighting Scot against Slippery Rock and his 10 total touchdowns is the fourth best mark in the conference.
Moving the Sticks
The Scots have been solid on third and fourth down ranking sixth in the conference in third down offense at .420 and ranks third in fourth down conversions at .600.
Scouting the Bald Eagles
The Bald Eagles are 5-5 overall and 3-4 in PSAC East play after scoring a 21-7 victory over Shippensburg last Saturday. Chris Collier rushed for 130 yards on 23 carries with a touchdown. Kyle Zajack went 14-for-25 for 238 yards and two touchdowns. T'air Young was the top target with two catches for 116 yards. Cody Romano led the defense with 10 tackles, one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss. Davien Vernon added six stops and two pass breakups.
Collier has led the Lock Haven offense with 1,263 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Young is the Bald Eagles' leading receiver at 652 yards on 26 catches. Romano leads the defense with 72 total tackles and 13 tackles for loss.Â
