Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team dropped a 49-0 decision to No. 13 Rutgers Friday night inside McComb Fieldhouse.

Caleb Edwards dropped a 20-5 tech fall to No. 5 Dean Peterson at the end of the match. Peterson scored a first period takedown and rode Edwards out to hold a 3-0 lead after one. Edwards scored an escape to open the second, but Peterson scored another takedown before Edwards escaped again to make it 6-2 after two. Peterson got out to start the third and scored four takedowns and gained the riding time point to set the final.

No. 18 Dylan Shawver scored a 20-8 major decision over Jacob Brenneman. Brenneman struck first with a takedown just five seconds into the match, but Shawver scored an escape and a takedown of his own to take 4-3 lead. Brenneman would escape, but be taken down again giving the Scarlet Knight a 7-4 advantage after one. Shawver scored two takedowns in the second and third to open up his lead and score the major.

The Scots sent out Nicholas Schaukowitsch against Joey Fongaro. With a 7-1 lead, Fongaro was able to turn Schaukowistsch and earn the fall in 5:36.

Steffan Lynch took the mat for Edinboro at 149 and fell 20-5 to Michael Cetta. In the first, Cetta scored four takedowns and then opened the second with a reversal and scored two more take downs for the tech fall.

Kirby scored an escape to start the second, but was taken down making it 10-1 after two. White scored an escape, takedown and four nearfall to close out the match in the third.

Joey Arnold fell 16-1 to No. 24 Jackson Turley. Turley tallied nine points on a pair of takedowns and three nearfall in the first. He chose neutral to open the second and scored a takedown and four nearfall points to close out the match.

Brody Evans came up on the wrong end of a 12-3 score against No. 12 Brian Soldano. In the first, Soldano scored a takedown and Evans escaped making it 3-1 after one. Evans cut it to 3-2 after escaping late in the second and finishing the period on his feet. A pair of takedowns and the riding time point gave Soldano the major.

No. 7 John Poznanski tallied an 18-3 tech fall of Edinboro's Jack Kilner at 197. Poznanski scored a takedown and two stalls on Kilner made it 4-0 after one. An escape and three Poznanski takedowns made it 14-2 heading to the third. Kilner got out to start the third, but a stall call and another takedown set the final.

Nick Lodato dropped an 18-8 major decision to No. 6 Yaraslau Slavikouski. In a high scoring first period, Slavikouski jumped out 5-0 with a takedown and two nearfall points. Lodato escaped and scored a takedown of his own to cut the lead to 5-4. An escape and takedown extended the lead to 9-4 before Lodato scored a reversal and Slavidouski an escape to make it 10-5 at the end of the first. In the second, Slavikouski scored four on an escape and a takedown and then scored an takedown and tallied the riding time point to set the final.
