Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team fell 28-6 to visiting Rider Friday night in MAC dual action at McComb Fieldhouse.
The match opened at 125 where Tyler Klinsky defeated
Eamonn Jimenez 23-8 to put the Broncos ahead 5-0. Richie Koehler extend the lead to 8-0 with a 4-1 decision over
Cameron Soda. McKenzie Bell earned a 10-0 major over
Zach Soda to make it 12-0 Rider after three bouts.
Ryan Burgos got the Scots on the board at 149. Trailing 5-0 after two periods, Burgos chose to start the third on his feet. He recorded a take down with 1:03 left and as he worked for a turn the bout was stopped for a Quinn Kinner injury. Burgos chose neutral again after the injury and scored another takedown with 32 seconds on the clock. Kinner scored an escape but Burgos scored his third takedown of the period and then earned four nearfall points to earn the 10-7 victory.
Luke Kemerer picked up a decision at 157 for the Scots. He took down Colton Washleski at the 2:09 mark of the first. Washleski scored an escape in the first and to open the second tying the score at 2-2. Kemerer escaped 12 seconds into the third and held off Washleski to earn the 3-2 victory.
At 165, Hunter Mays notched an 8-6 decision over
Alex Garee and Michael Wilson earned a 2-0 decision over
Joey Arnold to push the Rider lead to 18-6.
Jack Kilner and Isaac Dean went to sudden victory after finishing regulation tied 1-1. Dean earned a takedown 50 seconds in to earn a 3-1 decision.
In the 197 pound bout, Ethan Laird scored a 5-3 decision over
Cody Mulligan and David Szuba closed out the night with a 13-1 major decision of
Nick Lodato.
The Scots hit the road for a MAC dual with Lock Haven on Thursday.
