Bloomsburg, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team won five straight bouts across the middle weights as they topped host Bloomsburg 23-18 Friday night in the final dual of the regular season.
The Huskies jumped out early with Bronson Garber scoring a 10-2 major decision over
Eamonn Jimenez. The Bloomsburg lead expanded to 9-0 after Cole Rhone topped
Cameron Soda 15-0.
Amonn Ohl got the run started for the Fighting Scots. He earned a 14-4 major decision cutting the Bloomsburg lead in the dual to 9-4.
Ryan Burgos pulled Edinboro to within 9-7 after he shutout Cade Balestrini 6-0 to earn the decision.
Luke Kemerer needed just 53 seconds to score a fall of John Reho putting the Scots ahead 13-9 at the halfway point of the dual.
At 165,
Alex Garee cemented a 6-2 decision with a late takedown to extend the Scots advantage to 16-9.
Jared McGill picked up Edinboro's fifth straight bout win with an 8-2 decision over Anthony Derosa.
Buridano Stolfi stopped the Edinboro run with a 4-0 decision over
Jack Kilner to make it 19-12.
Cody Mulligan clinched the dual for the Scots at 197 with a 12-2 major over Tanner Culver. Shane Noonan finished the dual with a fall over
Nick Lodato.
The Scots return to action on March 3 at the MAC Championships hosted by George Mason in Fairfax, Va.
