Burgos Punches Ticket to NCAA Championships; Mulligan and McGill Place

Fairfax, Va. – Ryan Burgos finished fourth earning a trip to the NCAA Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
Burgos started his day in the consolation semifinals against Alec Hagan of Ohio. After a scoreless first period, Hagan chose to go start neutral in the second a period that would also end scoreless. Burgos scored an escape to 15 seconds into the third and hold on for the 1-0 decision. The win guaranteed Burgos a spot in the NCAA Championships. Burgos' day ended with an 11-1 loss to Quinn Kinner of Rider.
 
Mulligan opened Day Two with a 3-2 decision over Cameron Wood of Central Michigan. He followed that with a 5-0 decision over Tyler Bagoly to advance to the third-place match. After regulation finished 1-1, Mulligan would fall to Buffalo's Sam Mitchell 4-2 in the tie breaker to end in fourth place.
 
McGill fell 4-3 to Sal Perrine in the consolation semifinals. He responded in the seventh-place match earning an 8-0 major decision over Jay Nivison of Buffalo to finish seventh. McGill awaits the announcement of NCAA at-large bids on Tuesday.
