Florence, SC -- The Edinboro men's streak came to an end as they dropped their first match of the spring break trip with a 1-6 loss to Francis Marion University. With the loss, Edinboro falls to (7-2) overall.
The Patriots jumped out to a quick lead early in the match by earning the doubles point. Francis Marion earned two wins out of three to gain the 1-0 lead.
For Edinboro, the duo of Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi earned the Scot's their lone win in doubles. Acuna and Sacchi defeated Adam Ernberg and Harri Lloyd-Evans 6-4.
In Singles five of the six matches were determined by tiebreakers or extra sets. The Patriots would prevail by earning five out of six match wins.
Acuna stayed hot and captured Edinboro's lone singles win with his 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 victory over Martin Barbera. Acuna earned his fifth-straight win in singles and is now (8-1) on the season.
Edinboro will look to bounce back on Thursday when they finish off their spring break trip with Limestone University. The match will begin at noon.
