Florence, SC -- The Edinboro women's tennis team fell to Francis Marion University 1-6 on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, Edinboro falls to (2-6) overall.
In doubles the Edinboro women would earn the doubles point for the third time this season. The Scots won two of three matches in doubles as they held an early 1-0 lead over the Patriots.
The duo of Cecillia Carayol and Marina Zottele earned their third doubles win of the season as they defeated Gabriel Karatantcheva and Kim Venghaus 6-4.
The Edinboro women's second doubles win came from the duo of Ana Nadai and Sandra Riecken. The doubles team earned their fourth win of the season as they defeated Camryn Cassetori and Julia Pinto 6-3.
In singles the Patriots would prevail by earning wins in all six matches. Nadai came up short with a tremendous effort against Cassetori. Nadai fell to Cassetori 2-6, 7-6, 1-0 in a match that went into an extra set and had multiple tiebreakers.
Edinboro will look to bounce back on Thursday when they finish off their spring break trip with Limestone University. The match will begin at noon.
