Greensburg, Pa. – The Edinboro softball team earned a road split handing conference leading Seton Hill their first PSAC West loss of the season Sunday afternoon.
After dropping the opener 7-3, the Fighting Scots used a late rally to defeat the Griffins 2-1 in the nightcap.
After surrendering a run on two hits in the bottom of the first inning in game two,
Lauren Bush allowed just one hit and one walk over the next six innings of scoreless work to earn the victory for Edinboro in the circle.
Bush also did the damage with the bat in the top of the seventh.
Anna Mcginnis worked a one-out walk. After
Antonia Schaefer pinch ran,
Olivia Weller laid down a sacrifice moving Schaefer to second. Bush homered down the leftfield line to set the 2-1 final.
In the opener, the Scots got on the board first with an unearned run in the top of the second.
Stephanie Krick hit her third home run of the season in the top of the third to make it 2-0 Edinboro.
Seton Hill scored a run in the bottom of the third to trim the lead to 2-1. The Griffins scored six in the fourth keyed by a Grace Paredes three-run home run to make it 7-2.
In the fifth,
Cheyenne Shughart doubled home
