Erie, Pa. -- The Edinboro men dropped a hard-fought match to Fairmont State 2-4, in the NCAA Round of 32 on Saturday afternoon. After falling behind in Doubles, the Edinboro men's comeback rally fell short as Singles concluded. The Scots finished the season with a spectacular (18-4) overall record.
Doubles
In doubles the Falcons jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the race to two wins. The Edinboro men only struck once in doubles behind the duo of Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi
Acuna and Sacchi prevailed with a 6-4 win over Alex Stacy and Mohamed El Helaly. The duo finished (18-3) on the season in Doubles.
Singles
In singles the Falcons proceeded to earn three wins to clinch the victory.
Acuna was the first to finish in Singles with his 6-3, 6-1 win over Kan Watanabe. Acuna finished the season (21-1) in Singles.
Bruno Sabio edged Elia Barozzi in a tight first singles battle. Sabio pulled off a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win and gave Edinboro their second and final point of the match. Sabio finished the season (15-5) in Singles.
