Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's tennis team topped visiting Grove City 5-2 in the season opener Friday afternoon at the Edinboro Tennis Courts.
 
The Wolverines picked up the doubles points with the Scots lone victory coming in a 6-0 decision from Marina Zottele and Maria Clara Salomao.
 
Edinboro won five of six singles matches. Johanna Priedite scored at 7-5, 6-1 over Catherine Petrovich. Luciana Ponce went 6-0, 6-3 over Lexi Chappel at second flight singles.
 
Cecillia Carayol won third flight 6-0, 6-4. Lara Sener and Emma Semery picked up wins in their Fighting Scot singles debuts.
 
The Scots play at the Allegheny Invitational on Saturday.
