Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team kicked off the 2024-25 season with victories over Pitt-Bradford and Seton Hill Friday afternoon at the Boro Duals inside McComb Fieldhouse.
Against the Mountain Cats, Edinboro scored a 55-0 victory.
Chris Vargo got the Scots out quick scoring a fall over Cade Stern in 2:51.
Colton Camacho made his Edinboro debut at 133 scoring a 19-4 tech fall over Jacob Rogers in just 2:05.
At 141,
Colin Roberts also notched a tech fall in 4:37 by a score of 16-1.
Ryan Michaels picked up a fall over Raymond Worsen in the second period at 157. Hunter Hutchenson majored DJ Slovick 15-4 at 184.
Nick Lodato need just 1:18 to score a fall over Alec Kapacs.
Aden Roe finished out the match with a 21-5 tech fall in just 2:17 over Gavin Thompson. The Scots also picked up forfeit wins at 149, 165 and 174.
In the match with Seton Hill, Vargo again started the match with a fall this time over Don Lindsey in 3:50. Camacho used 6:35 to tech fall Jacob Braun 22-6 at 133.
Roberts scored a 7-3 decision at 141 over Nikolas Ferra. At 149,
Ryan Burgos made his season deut majoring Ty Linsenbigler 14-3. Michaels scored bonus points for the Scots pinning Christian Hirak in 3:57 at 157.
In his season opener at 165,
Max Kirby entered the third period tied with Collin Hearn 1-1 before he scored seven points plus the riding time point to earn a 9-1 major decision. Brody Evan matched that major winning 10-1 over Kane Kettering in his debut.
At 184, Hutchenson pinned Landon Christie in 2:13. Lodato was a 6-5 winner of Brendan Finnerty and Roe pinned Ethan Cain in 6:09 setting the team final at 47-0.
The Scot return to action on Sunday with a trip to the Clarion Open. Wrestling starts at 9 a.m. inside Tippin Gymnasium.
